A new logo I designed recently for Catherine Aitken, a designer of textiles, furniture, objects and interiors. The font I developed aims to echo some of the framework materials and decorative finishes she uses in her work, and to sit alongside and compliment the different products she designs. I wanted the shapes of the letters to be quite structural, and have a subtle reference to technical plans and drawings and to 3D forms, and to almost look like it was part of the design process behind her designs... The colour will evolve over time with each of her product ranges so it fits tonally and reflects the colours she's using, while the structure of the letters remain the same. I posted some of her beautiful tiles previously here.
