This piece of memorabilia was made in 1977 to celebrate The Queen's Silver Jubilee. It folds out to produce a telescopic view of the carriage procession along The Mall, with Buckingham Palace in the background. I think the telescopic idea works brilliantly, and the illustrations, simple colours and cut-outs are charming. It reminds me of the Victorian toy theatres... which is quite fitting really. Someone put this lovely object in a skip... luckily it was rescued by Sarah Jane down the lane.
