I don't know whether to call these images diagrams or illustrations... but either way I think they are great. They are from a book called The Earth, by I. O. Evans. It was printed in 1970 and I found it hidden on a bookshelf at my parents house. Sadly it doesn't say who did the illustrations, just that they were based on drawings published in 1831 by a Geologist called Murchison. He has a crater on the moon named after him.
